Emotional Marketing Techniques and Tips

The best way to attract consumers is through emotional marketing. This method of marketing is about the connection of your target market for your product or service in its most basic level – the emotional level. Emotion stimulates people's minds up to 3000 times faster that non-emotional thinking. The world is being driven by emotions. People make impulse purchases based on emotion, not rational thought. If you can play with people's emotions, you can get when otherwise no sale.

Spence Kramer, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Virgin America in the United States spoke about the emotional marketing in a recent article. Emotional Marketing Techniques
marketing depends on the emotional experience. I really can not use emotional marketing unless someone has already experienced your product or service. You can not use the poster printing pieces and brochures that talk about how your product has saved my life, unless your company has already experienced that.

people by word of mouth – rely on others to inform them of their operation or if it is the best.

Forums – this is essentially electronic word of mouth.

Testing – If you have concrete results, and those who participated in the tests are satisfied, you have proof that your product works, that attracts people skeptical side.

Testimonials – Once again, people trust others. If people are willing to take the time to give testimony, others will know you have a great product.

Emotional Marketing Copy
When writing copy copy brochure or flyer, use emotional words as "pride", "happy" and "trust." Use feelings you know your customers want to feel (which should come from your research target market).

Colors Emotional Marketing
Everything about your marketing materials, including color choice affects your customer. Green makes people think about money and greed, turquoise can make people feel calm and peaceful, dark blue usually connected to feeling depressed. You can search "Colors" and "sense" on the Internet to find lists that tell you what colors are associated with feelings.

Emotions do not be sad
When people think of emotional marketing, you probably think of cheesy ads worthy of long distance calls. But that is not the only emotion that can be challenged. Why do people smile and laugh yet? When people are laughing releases endorphins, compounds that make them feel good. If people feel well while watching your marketing materials, which in turn feel good about yourself and your product.
